Over 70 people attended including 34 Kent Members, 9 Society members from
outside Kent and more than usual members of the public.
Thanks go to all the track owners for putting on a good show which consisted
of Frank Oakes' Rheilffordd Y Derw with his team of live steam pals, Paul
Newman and Clematis Railway, Adam Adam's Micro track, Christopher and Mark
Wanstall's Christopher's Light Railway, Malcolm Brewer's Bunnybridge Railway
from Essex, and the Groups track, Garden of England.
Also in attendance were Andy of Kent Garden Railways and Alan of Pendlebury
Models.
Members brought plenty to run on the tracks including John Dean with his
hand made Hastings coaches, always an attraction having come second in the
G Rail modelling competition a couple of years ago.
The reception table was manned for most of the day by Roy Lloyd, for which
the Chairman was extremely grateful as he has been tied to that in the past.
Julia, Jean, Jacob and several helpers provided refreshments for which there
was a constant queue, and Elizabeth let very few people pass her without
buying a raffle ticket.
Thanks to all those who donated raffle prizes, probable the most we have
ever had. The day was organised by Roger Allen together with a Members Second
Hand Stall which was popular.
The Hall has been booked for 2013 on Sunday 20 January. |
